Layne Badger

Layne Isakson Badger passed away on July 25, 1998, at the age of 35.  Layne was born on June 13, 1963, in Salt lake City to George Hinckley and LaJuana Isakson Badger. He graduated from East High School in 1981, where he was junior class president and a two year lettermen in football. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from the University of Utah in 1985. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Tampa Florida Mission. Layne served also as a Temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple. He was an Eagle Scout.Layne had a dream. He made a personal commitment to a life of service and simplicity. He never forsook his vow. Whether assisting the poverty stricken in India, where he was blessed by Mother Theresa, or teaching children in Taiwan, Layne attempted to place his mark upon the world.

Layne loved adventure. He witnessed the destruction of the Berlin Wall, confronted a grizzly in Alaska, traveled inside the Arctic Circle, climbed to the base camp of Mount Everest, and recently walked the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and viewed the Pyramids of Egypt. Layne circled the globe.
