Byran Sorenson

Byran Sorenson

The world lost a great man, son, friend and amazing musician on Sunday, Jan 6th 2013. Bryan was born to Blair Wendell Sorenson and Ila Margene Carnell Sorenson on September 21st, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the 3rd child of 6 children. He was a member of the LDS church and especially treasured his experiences in the Young Men's program and as a boy scout. Bryan was one of a kind… such a loving, caring person who befriended all he knew and kept everyone around him laughing with his wit and enthusiasm for life. He grew up in the Sugarhouse area and graduated from East High School. Bryan was born with music in his soul. Drums were his passion from earliest childhood and he had a God given ability to play them. He was also a talented guitar player and singer. He had a rocker's soul and played with several groups over the years. He started the band Megattack with Parrish Hultquist in 1984 and the albums produced were very successful in both the US and Europe enriching the lives of thousands. Although he left us way too soon, we know he is making music with his friends and family who have gone on before him. Bryan was a good friend, always willing to listen and lend positive advice. He blessed the lives of many people. He had tremendous insight in the world around us as well as the heavens above. He was a very spiritual person and had strong faith in Jesus Christ. Bryan was a world traveler and made friends wherever he went. Regardless of their social status he saw everyone in the same light. We will miss him dearly. Rest sweet prince. We are so grateful to have had your influence in our lives and we will cherish you in our hearts always.
Bryan is preceeded in death by his grandparents, sister Tammi Jo Sorenson (1957-1960), brother David Trent Sorenson (1965), and brother Steven Blair Sorenson (1961-1995) and his life long friend and fellow musician Parrish Hultquist. He is survived by his sweet mother Margene, father Blair, sister Marcy (Randal) Nelson, beloved niece Sarah White, and brother Matt Sorenson (Tamyra).
